I have had two kids one of which by cesarean and I have a lot of excess skin on the bottom of my stomach due to this. I am 155 pounds and I was wondering what the requirements are to get the surgery? Also a bonus if anyone knows the price range and how much it would cost to do this I live in kentucky. Please don’t answer this with ask your insurance company because the current insurance I have doesn’t cover cosmetic surgery. This is coming out of my pocket… Anyway any help is greatly appreciated

A good surgeon won’t do it if you smoke, because you won’t heal as well, and you should be done having kids, getting pregnant again will wreck it. I had a tummy tuck, it was the best thing I ever did. All the stetch marks below my belly button are gone, the ones above my below button are now very very low and my tummy is flat and my belly button is cute. All my excess hanging skin is gone. Mine cost $5,000 about six years ago. I live in Phoenix. A great web site with lots of great info and pictures is tuckthattummy.com. You may be able to find someone in Kentuky who had it done and can give you a better idea of current prices. Also, most plastic surgeons will give you a free consult. Just make sure you go with a board certified plastic surgeon. Lots of other types of docs try and do plastic surgery. Believe me, this is a BIG surgery and you want someone who knows what they are doing. Go to that website, you will learn everything. Good luck, I hope you get it done, you will LOVE it, I am so glad I did mine. It was worth every penny.

thousands and they will want you to get to your goal weight before they do it, be it by diet or lyposuction, no ins covers cosmetic surgery unless you pay thousands, like actresses and models might.

There are varying degrees to the conditions that are corrected by tummy tuck surgery and therefore varying techniques to achieve desired outcomes. Where only excess fat is the only contributing factor and skin has good tone and elasticity, liposuction techniques alone may achieve good results. This is not called a tummy tuck but it is actually a liposuction of the abdomen.

A true tummy tuck surgery treats excess abdominal skin and requires surgical excision of skin to create a flatter, more trimmed tummy. Anyone who is considering a tummy tuck surgery should meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine exactly what procedure will achieve the best overall outcome.

Tummy tuck candidates are healthy men and women with excess abdominal skin who are of stable weight and not obese. They are individuals with realistic goals who do not have health conditions that can impede healing, such as diabetes or certain autoimmune diseases. If you have a condition that may compromise your health, make sure you communicate this to your plastic surgeon.

Women considering future pregnancies may wish to postpone a tummy tuck surgery. Tummy tuck surgery will not interfere with pregnancy; however, the benefits of tummy tuck surgery can be significantly diminished following pregnancy.
